PENGUINS
Penguins are
bird can swimming but flightless. They are good swimmers; fast and very well.
Almost 75%, they spend their live in water. They live in South Pole and raise
their chicks on the land.
Most of
penguins make a home for their egg. It consists of a pile of large stones
hollow in the dirt. Emperor penguins do not build nests. The male penguins hold
the eggs under the feet called brood patch. The penguin chicks grow quickly and
become independent in a short time.
Penguins lay their egg and the egg saved by
male penguins’ feet. It is an incubating period. The female penguins leave it
to find the food at sea and the male penguins keep the egg warm for 66 days.
The breeding season is spring to summer for most species of penguins except
emperor penguins in winter period.
Penguins not afraid close with humans. In Antarctica they
do not have predators just leopard seals. They will not come nearer less than 3
meters from humans and predator. The tourists not allowed come closer than 3
meters except the penguins come closer to you.
